Business owners, police officers, city workers, and many others gathered at the Bradford Brew Station on Chestnut Street on Thursday evening to show their support for the Bradford City Police K9 Unit — Specifically Sgt. Seth Shepherd and K9 Officer Duke.
Todd Hennard hosted the fundraiser at the Brew Station and donated fifty percent of the proceeds that evening to support the Bradford Police K9 Unit.
The City of Bradford Police’s K9 Unit relies on public donations. Bradford City Police Chief Michael Ward said that the K9 Unit “truly makes our community safer.”
The successful turnout “really means a lot to us,” said Ward. “We would especially like to thank Todd Hennard, the Bradford Brew Station and the Blaisdell Foundation — as well as everyone who came out and participated in this fundraiser for Duke.”
According to Ward, the funds raised during the event will allow for additional training exercises, additional equipment for the K9 Unit and more.
The City of Bradford Police K9 Unit is “huge added tool to combat drugs, conduct search and rescue operations and aid in suspect apprehension,” said Ward.
